The vintage chenille fabrics from J Brown just ooze quality. The look and feel of the fabrics brings style to classic furniture. This week we applied three co-ordinating patterns to this "Cooper's" four piece suite. The vintage floral design used on cushions and backs of one sofa contrasts beautifully with the relatively plain, self-coloured fabric used on the bases and the striped design used on the cushions of the other sofa and the chairs as well as the footstool.
Meticulous attention to detail was required to ensure a first class finish with regards pattern matching both the stripe and floral fabrics.
We also replaced existing seat cushion interiors with best quality flame retardant "Reflex" interiors, which carry a ten-year guarantee. They were also wrapped in a secondary casing, comprising Dacron and stockinette, to prolong cushion life. We also replaced existing back cushion interiors with best quality flame retardant "Fibre-fill" interiors. The combination of "Reflex" and "Fibre-fill" ensures maximum comfort, quality and durability. All four pieces were completely stripped back to the frame and all interiors replaced with best quality flame retardant "Reflex" interiors to ensure the suite was restored to "as new". Lastly, to finish all four pieces with a rolled edge and flanged cord.
The suite was finished with six scatter cushions and fitted armcaps to protect the arms of the suite without compromising the appearance. Finally, as the suite was to be situated on a wooden floor we replaced the need for castor cups to protect the floor from the castors with glides.
Our clients loved it, thought it looked really smart and felt supremely comfortable.
