Image: 660 - Two sofas re-upholstered in "Kirby House" Creme Anglaise crushed velvet
This week we completely re-upholstered two sofas (both two and a half seater sofas) and one lift-top footstool in a best quality flame retardant "Kirkby House" classic creme anglaise crushed velvet fabric. Fabrics like these are increasingly sought-after as they as beautiful to look at, comfortable, luxurious but incredibly hard-wearing and stand the test of time by retaining their appearance.

When specifying light colours for your upholstery it is important to choose something that is durable as well as beautiful to get the best value from your investment. This suite should keep its good looks and comfort for years to come.

We also replaced existing seat cushion interiors with best quality flame retardant "Reflex" interiors, which carry a ten-year guarantee. They were also wrapped in a secondary casing, comprising Dacron and stockinette, to prolong cushion life. We also replaced existing back cushion interiors with best quality flame retardant "Fibre-fill" interiors. The combination of "Reflex" and "Fibre-fill" interiors ensure maximum comfort, quality and durability. All three pieces were completely stripped back to the frame and all interiors replaced to ensure they are all restored to "as new". Lastly, all three pieces were finished with a rolled edge.

We also made two sets of armcaps to protect the arms of the sofas. These can be easily cleaned and they protect the part of the sofa that wears the most.

Our clients said "it looked beautiful and had crisper lines than before" as we had modified both sofas by adjusting the seat height and simplified the design,as requested. In fact, they were so delighted they were kind enough to give us a bottle of wine as a thank you! What a wonderful finish to the week. Delighted clients and happy upholsterers!
