It is always good to hear feedback from customers. From time to time we get called out to look at furniture in cases that don't warrant a job being raised. The odd missing upholstery button or castor can be replaced or refitted in minutes and for the sake of customer goodwill, we would rather not present an invoice.
Mostly, in such cases when asked what the bill is, we just ask that the customer makes a small donation to the charity of their choice. It was heartwarming last week to receive a copy of the receipt from Cancer Research UK for a very generous donation from Mr S of Brentwood for whom we re-upholstered a chesterfield sofa in 2010. Thank you.
Charities need all the help they can get in the current climate, so it is great to think that our customers are so happy to help.
