This week we re-upholstered two sofas, both two and a half seater sofas, in a Linwood bark-weave chenille flame retardant fabric.

When I first viewed the sofas they had loose-covers. I made some suggestions for modifying the sofas and our customer gave us a free hand to do whatever we thought. We changed the existing scatter cushion back for three fitted back cushions. This was a winning design, as coupled with the two large seat cushions and bolsters, it gave a contemporary design and finish. We finished both sofas with a rolled edge, which complemented the sofas beautifully.

Our customer was thrilled and said we had done a fantastic job. After Christmas we are re-upholstering a 1950s flute-backed suite for her. It is a stunning and rare piece of furniture and we are really looking forward to restoring it to its former glory. Furniture of this kind is becoming rarer and rarer and it will feature on our blog in the New Year.
