Image: 1643 - Three contrasting items from one client

This week variety has been the spice of life in our workshop! One client brought us in a "Duresta" sofa, "Parker Knoll" armchair and a bedroom chair from different rooms. The treatment of each item being markedly different.

The "Duresta" sofa was re-uphostered in a striking best quality, flame-retardant fabric from Prestigious Textiles. The bold pattern makes this sofa really standn out and required great attention to detail to make sure that the pattern matching was perfect. the client had requested a rolled edge on the sofa, which finishes the job off to perfection.

For the "Parker-Knoll" winged armchair, a "Linwood" checked pattern was chosen. This is a conservative look compared to the sofa but nonetheless, the job had to be carried out with great care as checks show up even the tiniest irregularity in pattern matching.

The bedroom chair has a very traditional look thanks to the "Romo" crushed fabric and matching braid complementing perfectly the polished wood frame and legs. The first step, as usual, was to strip all three pieces back to their bare frames and check carefully for any imperfections. Like building a house, to get a perfect finish, you have to have a sound foundation, and there is no substitute for taking the time and trouble to check this first.Once the frames had been examined, the existing seat cushion interiors were replaced with best quality flame retardant "Reflex" interiors. These carry a ten year guarantee. The interiors were also wrapped in a secondary casing, comprising Dacron and stockinette, to prolong cushion life. Existing back cushion interiors were also replaced with best quality flame retardant "Fibre-fill" interiors. The combination of "Reflex" and "Fibre-fill" ensures maximum comfort, quality and durability.
Our clients were delighted with their "new" furniture and we look forward to receiving their independent feedback on our Which? Trusted Traders' page in due course.
