Image: 1170 - 2015 10 23 Reclining Chair After 2
This week we completely re-upholstered a reclining armchair for some long-standing clients, for whom we have re-upholstered furniture in the past. The chair had been well used, as you will see from the accompanying 'before' photographs. Our clients chose two complementary best quality "Christina Marrone" chenille fabrics, the main body was re-upholstered in a plain chenille with the seat and back cushions being re-upholstered in a complementary patterned chenille. The overall effect, with the buttoned back, is one of inviting comfort, with a more up to date appearance. The existing seat cushion interior was replaced with a best quality flame retardant "Reflex" interior, which carries a ten-year guarantee. It was then wrapped in a secondary casing, comprising Dacron and stockinette, to prolong cushion life. The existing back cushion was replaced with a best quality flame retardant "Fibre-fill" interior. The combination of "Reflex" and "Fibre-fill" interiors ensures maximum comfort, quality and durability. The back cushion was traditionally deep-buttoned with a scrolled headrest. Lastly, to give the reclining armchair a more contemporary appearance, it was finished with a rolled edge to replace the original fringe. The photographs were taken in the workshop as our clients are currently on holiday so we are looking forward to updating the story with their comments when they return.
