Image: 1055 - Antique sofa and Queen Anne chair brought up to date

This week we re-upholstered an antique sofa and Queen Anne armchair for a customer who was recommended to us by his neighbour, for whom we re-upholstered a suite of furniture a couple of years ago.

Working on these beautifully made antique pieces is always a joy for us. To bring something of such age back to as, or even better than new condition is extremely satisfying. The combination of traditional craftsmanship and modern fabrics gives great comfort and a timeless style. For this reason our client chose a best quality flame retardant "J Brown" crushed fabric for the antique sofa.

The beauty of this fabric, and one of the main reasons for its popularity, is that it is incredibly hard-wearing and durable. The look and feel of the fabric is pure luxury, looking just as natural and at home on both antique and modern furniture.

Whilst the upholstered frame was traditionally re-upholstered, we replaced the existing seat cushion interiors with best quality flame retardant "Reflex" interiors, which carry a ten year guarantee. These were then wrapped in a secondary casing, comprising Dacron and stockinette, to prolong cushion life. Existing back cushion interiors were replaced with best quality flame retardant "Fibre-fill" interiors. The combination of which ensures maximum comfort, quality and durability. Stunning!

We also completely re-upholstered a Queen Anne armchair in a best quality flame retardant "Christina Marrone" fabric. The armchair was completely stripped to the frame and all interiors replaced with best quality flame retardant interiors to ensure it was completely restored to "as new".

Our client said we had done a brilliant job and he would recommend us highly.
